Well here we are! It's Fall and we are starting the contest you all have been waiting for! The Apprenticeship contest! We are holding a kickoff seminar for the event at the Daddy Katz location Friday Nov.11th at 7:30 pm! All interested individuals may sign up at the seminar ONLY! So if you are interested, you must be 18 and present! You DO NOT need to bring any artwork with you, just yourself! We are looking forward to seeing you at the seminar!
The Contestants that volunteer for the contest will be asked to participate in
the following:
1.) All volunteer contestants will be required to draw an 11x17 sheet of flash art to be shown at the event kickoff art show, put on by the TRUTH & TRIUMPH TATTOO crew. The work will be voted on by the fans as well as the shop crew and the shop owner.
(This will continue throughout the contest)
2.) All of the volunteer contestants will be required to collect Facebook votes throughout the contest. They will be counted, and contestants will receive points and rewards weekly for the votes they have acquired throughout.
3.) Disqualified contestants may be brought back into the contest as a wild card at undisclosed times during the contest and will regain their spot in the contest with the others.
4.) All volunteer contestants will be required to do whatever it takes to keep the shops in tip top shape during the contest. Clean the shop, keep the shop organized, rearrange and clean the lobby throughout the day, workstation arrangement and cleaning regimen throughout the day. Basically, make sure the shops look flawless and organized. (All volunteer contestants work will be judged by on duty staff)
5.) Contestants are required to draw a 100 page sketchbook, covering the 10 most popular things that get tattooed in the shop!! 10 sheets of 10 (under the direction of our staff). Unacceptable quality and/or hurried work will be redone and resubmitted. After the 100 pages are complete, it will be suggested to maintain a fresh page weekly to your sketchbook.

6.) Contestants are to know all of the parts of a tattoo machine, as well as how to assemble a machine. Contestants need to also be aware of how to tune a machine before using one as well!
7.) Contestants are required to round up their own volunteers for tattooing. Truth & Triumph is not responsible in any way to provide clients for the contestants.
8.) Contestants will tattoo a minimum of 5 clients a week. (Under the supervision of one of our tattooers)
9.) The contestants will also photograph their work and keep track of it in a portfolio, as well as on their Facebook pages, and other artwork as well.
10.) All contestants are required to volunteer 365 total days of free labor in one of our shops. All work is counted, regardless of which shop the contestant is asked to volunteer. All of the contestants will have the opportunity to work at all 3 shops, and with all of the artists. The contestant will shadow an artist that will be assigned on their day of arrival.
11.) The contestants will be put through a series of challenges, all of which will be explained at the seminar. The contestant must pass each challenge, and then will move on to next: Does this sound like fun or what!? Entry seminar will take place Friday November, 11th at the Daddy Katz location. 7:30pm Sharp! All registrants must show up to the seminar to register. Registration is free and participants must be 18 to qualify! See you on the 11th! Be there!
Brian Brenner // owner of Truth & Triumph creates quite a stir in Italy! "I'll definitely be attending more conventions in this part of the world," says Brenner. The Art of tattoo is really being appreciated by Europeans and is only getting stronger. Italy is the Mecca for art and fashion and it only makes sense that tattooing be high on the demand list in the art epicenter of the world. Tattoos for everyone! Ha!

The heat is always on high at the Hell City Tattoo convention! It is by far one of the most prestigious events to be a part of, and we are honored to be a part of it. The Hell City convention is cram packed with some of greatest tattooers from around the world. The daily contests at this convention are among the hardest to enter and win. We feel sorry for whoever has to judge this event. Every tattoo entry is nearly flawless. It truly is the best of the best against the best of the best! There were many winners for different categories and our very own Brian Brenner was one of them. Brenner won the award of awards! The Tattoo of the Day! If you are gonna win any award, the "Tattoo of the Day" is the one everyone wants. It means you won the top tattoo done at the show. It is a lot of pressure and shows the true ability of the winning artist. This is a very sweet victory for the Truth & Triumph Tattoo crew!
